Sooner or later, every cook needs a proper meat pounder for flattening chicken-fried steak, chicken breasts, or veal scallops, or for evening out the thickness of butterflied leg of lamb so it cooks uniformly on the grill. This one's as good as they get. With a professional weight (26 ounces) and size (3-1/4 inches in diameter), it's heavy enough for quick work but small enough for precise maneuverability. Made of mirror-polished stainless steel, with a santoprene handle to provide a sure grip even when wet, this essential kitchen tool should last a lifetime. --Fred Brack

Customers are satisfied with the quality of the manual food mill grinder. They mention that it is a heavy duty meat pounder, well built, and easy to handle and clean. The iron is somewhat strong, but by itself it's not nearly as strong as this product. The pound has so much heft that its weight does the job almost by itself. The flat surface does not tear up the meat, and it works great and doesn't tear the meat at all. It's better than a kitchen mallet and is great for those thick chicken breasts that need to be thinned out for quicker cooking.

This little guy was recommend from ATK. I use it on my chicken all the time now. It’s pretty heavy and I can get a more even outcome than the mallet tenderizers. The handle is comfortable and it hasn’t slipped out from my grasp.
